Oropharyngeal dysphagia and research advances in rehabilitation

This teaching unit is part of Semester 1 of the Master's program for speech and language therapists (M2). It aims to develop the student's clinical approach to speech-language pathology assessment and intervention with people suffering from oropharyngeal dysphagia and their caregivers. This teaching unit contributes to the development of the following competencies: -Research new approaches and methodologies for swallowing screening and assessment. -Master oropharyngeal dysphagia rehabilitation techniques and approaches. -Implement advisory and expert approaches in order to make therapeutic decisions. -Assess the effectiveness of interventions based on evidence and clinical practice. -Involve patients and their caregivers in therapeutic education. -Know how to work as part of a multidisciplinary team caring for dysphagia patients.
